Sacred Tattooing
Growing up as a Lutheran I had a lot of judgements around people who got tattoos.
I thought they looked trashy and I didn’t understand why people would put something so hideous on their bodies.
After going through my hurricane year in 2016 and getting fired from my nursing job and also divorced within the same week I suddenly felt the urge to get my first tattoo.
I was stepping into a new version of myself and I wanted to remember who I was becoming so I wouldn’t slip backwards.
It finally made sense to me why people put tattoos on their body…as a way to share their stories with the world.
Since getting my first tattoo in 2016, I’ve gotten 5 more! It’s kinda addicting to say the least.
Then last week I just got my most recent tattoo behind my left elbow, but. not in the typical way that most people think of when you get ink on your body.
